Essex Open U9 Blues vs AP Saints U10s

Essex Met Under 10 League | Match Report

Essex Open U9 Blues took to the court for their second game of the season, facing opposition from another club for the first time. Up against the older, bigger and faster AP Saints U10s, the Blues started brightly and matched their opponents for effort and determination, finishing the first quarter just one goal behind.

The girls continued to work hard in the second quarter, moving the ball well from defence to attack. However, AP Saints’ speed and movement in attack proved challenging to contain as the game progressed.

By the third and fourth quarters, fatigue began to show, with movement slowing and passes losing some of their strength. Despite this, the Blues never gave up, maintaining their fighting spirit and commitment until the final whistle.

Although the game finished 18–4 to AP Saints, there were plenty of positives to take away. The girls showed great determination and promise against older opposition, gaining valuable match experience as they look ahead to their third game in a few weeks. Well done, Blues!
