Fusion Performance League

Essex Open U15s travelled to Turnford and made a flying start, dominating the opening quarter with relentless pressure and excellent work through the midcourt. Turning over possession from Turnford’s centre passes, they dictated the pace of the game and, after settling into their shooting, converted their dominance into a commanding 14–5 lead.

Turnford responded strongly in the second quarter, improving their attacking play and having a greater influence in the midcourt. They began to close the gap, but Essex Open maintained their composure to go into the next phase with a 21–14 advantage.

Turnford continued to build momentum, taking control of the midcourt and working hard to feed their attack. They also doubled up on goal shooter Trish, making it increasingly difficult for Essex Open to find her in the circle. Turnford capitalised at the other end, keeping the contest tight and setting up a tense final quarter.

With home support behind them, Turnford brought real intensity to an end-to-end final quarter, putting Essex Open under considerable pressure. However, the Essex players refused to be intimidated, showing tremendous resilience, determination and composure when it mattered most. In a thrilling finish, Essex Open held their nerve to secure a hard-fought 41–39 victory. A fantastic team effort and a great display of character under pressure!
