Essex Open U10 Blues 9 v 7 Brentwood U10s

Our newly formed Essex Open U10 Blues squad took to the court for their first-ever league match in the Essex U10 League against Brentwood U10s.

The girls had a fantastic first outing, showing the right attitude and demonstrating the fundamental skills we have been working on.

Their passing was strong, with players running onto the ball, turning and passing effectively, and moving the ball down the court with purpose.

For a newly formed squad playing their first competitive match together, there was a great deal of fluidity in their play. Defensively, the girls stayed tight to their players and worked hard throughout.

We created a host of chances, although our finishing could have been more clinical, which made for a much closer game than it perhaps needed to be.

Nevertheless, the girls came away with an excellent 9–7 victory. A fantastic start to their league campaign and a great foundation to build on as the squad continues to develop together.
