Essex Open Maroons and Blues met in the 2026/2027 season opener.

Some rustiness from both teams led to a close 1st quarter with Maroons leading 4-2.

Maroons got into their stride from the 2nd quarter with faster passing getting the ball moving from back to front. This led to many more chances for the shooters and allowed the team to pull away from the Blues.

3rd quarter the pace of play was relentless capitalising on any mistakes made by the Blues and Maroons were able to extend their lead.

In the end a great first win of the season with a score of 22-7.

Tougher challenges await the Maroons when they face teams a year older than them!
