Essex Open U11 Blues took to the court for their very first game of the season against the Maroons. While the final score of 22-7 went the Maroons’ way, there was plenty to be proud of.

The Maroons dominated for a well-earned win, but the Blues didn’t make it easy. They played hard from the first whistle, staying right on the Maroons’ heels in the opening quarter, showing real heart and determination. As the Maroons extended their lead over the following quarters, the Blues never stopped fighting, and there were some lovely moments of shooting, defence and attacking play along the way.

This was a spirited start for the Blues, and the teamwork on show gives them a promising foundation to build on.

Well done, Blues, on a great effort. Onwards to the next game!
