Essex Open A completed a comfortable victory over fellow clubmates Essex Open B. Although the match was very competitive, as expected the A team held the upper hand and were able to keep control in all four quarters. The A team started well and midway through the first quarter took a 9-5 lead. By the end of the quarter they were 19-10 in front and the B team were facing an uphill struggle. At halftime, the A team led 34-17 and the B team needed to concentrate in the second half to ensure they kept within a half. The third quarter was much more tightly fought with the B team starting it exceptionally well, scoring seven goals with only two in reply from the A team. However, the A team recovered their composure and won the quarter narrowly 14-11. The last quarter was again tightly fought with the score line of 16-13, giving the A team overall a 64-41 victory.
