Essex Open won 28–22 against Manor Met at Redbridge Sports Centre on 26th September. The match flowed smoothly, with Essex building momentum through sharp passing and quick transitions. Ava got a well deserved P.O.M. from the opposing team. Throughout the match our defence was spot on at marking the Manor Met shooters.

In the second half, the attacking play became stronger, with Elisha and Lizzie working well together to open space in the circle. Ava also created opportunities and connected well with Elisha, who used effective backdoor drives along the goal line. They both had good vision to work the ball into the circle.

Anya provided great height in the shooting circle and also connected strongly with Lizzie; Anya made a significant impact on the game and received a well deserved coach’s POM.

Although the opposition players were strong and bigger than us and played very well, we matched them every time which is great considering we’re aged between 11-13 and they’re aged U16.

Essex Open stayed strong and showed good sportsmanship throughout.

Overall, the match contained excellent attacking play and amazing defending.
