U13 ENG YNPL Southern league match report. 1st match V Turnford and 2nd match V Ryland.
First match
Turnford game :19-15
In the first game against Turnford, the first two quarters were sloppy and slow. We made unforced errors.
For example: ball placement, not squeezing the ball in or not waiting for the change.
However, in the last two quarters we all had good mentality, use the feedback that our coach gave us; performed in a way that led us to have good structure.
In the third and fourth quarters, we reduced the number of mistakes – enabling us to get the ball to our shooters more often.
One thing we need to work on is starting strong , so the game will be easier to compete in.
Second match
Ryland game : 26-25
In this game, we didn’t know what to expect as we had never played the team before. The passes at the start weren’t the best , but the defence held firm to keep the game within distance.
As the game progressed, our strength in the shooting circle improved.
What worked really well was in the mid court, C/WA would help for back lines creating more space.
In our defence, the GD and GK had a good connection with switching for the tall holding shooter. Using this skill helped the team win back the ball leading us to our first win.
Overall, we tried our hardest in the two games and gave it our all!!
