Essex Open B enjoyed an emphatic victory over Cumberland this morning at Redbridge Sports Centre
Essex Open B 58 Cumberland 20
Essex Open B demolished Cumberland at Redbridge Sports Centre this morning. This almost guarantees division 1 netball next year. From the outset Essex were in total command. Olivia Edwards, Rebecca Mead and Sarah Braiden created numerous chances for Sophia Sefton and Rochelle Reynolds-Blanche, which they took full advantage of. Halfway through the first quarter Essex had established a 10-1 lead. Cumberland fought there way back into the game but Emma Thorogood and Jasmin Odeogberin were resolute in defence. At the end of the first quarter Essex led 17-7. The second quarter followed a similar pattern with Cumberland finding it difficult to get the ball into the Essex circle. At half time Essex held a 20 goal lead as they went 30-10 up. Essex continued to dominate in the second half and when the final whistle went Essex had recorded a 58-20 victory.
