It was a successful day for Essex as the Under 13’s won the Crosskeys tournament today.
Essex Open took 8 junior teams to the Crosskeys tournament at Harlow this weekend. They were represented by two teams at U11, U12, U13 and U14.
The under 13’s maroon team emerged as winners beating bitter rivals Turnford 6-5 in a closely contested final. The under 11’s maroon team also reached the final going down narrowly to CD Phoenix 4-3 in the final.
The U14’s maroon team lost in the semi final to Turnford in controversial circumstances. Having seemingly won the game in extra time with a golden goal, the match was replayed as it was ruled that the additional time was started with a centre whreas it should have continued where the match had finished. Turnford won the replay with a golden goal.

The U12’s maroons also lost to Turnford in additional time.
